When You Understand Yourself and Others,
Life Feels Easier
Transition Passport Assessment
Helping your child's new secondary school understand who they are before they even walk through the door.
Overview
Starting secondary school is one of the biggest changes a child will experience during their education.
Whilst many children settle quickly, others carry worries about friendships, confidence, organisation, routines, expectations and fitting into a much bigger environment.
As parents, we often find ourselves wondering whether our child will settle in, make friends, ask for help when they need it, and whether their new teachers will truly understand them.
Every child experiences transition differently.
Our Transition Passport helps build a clear picture of who your child is, what may worry them, what helps them feel confident and supported, and how their new school can help them get off to the best possible start.
The result is a personalised document that can be shared with your child's new secondary school before they start, helping staff understand them from day one rather than waiting for difficulties to emerge.
Who this is for
- Your child is moving from primary to secondary school
- You want their new school to understand them as an individual
- Your child has worries about transition, friendships, routines or change
- You want to identify potential challenges before they become bigger problems
- You want to give your child the best possible start to secondary school
What we do
We build a personalised picture of your child using:
- A discovery call with you as the parent
- Your child's own voice
- GYGO profiling
- A child transition questionnaire
- A Zoom conversation with you and your child
Together, this helps us understand your child's strengths, worries, communication style, emotional needs and the type of support that helps them thrive.
What you'll receive
- A personalised Transition Passport
- Insight into your child's strengths and personality profile
- Identification of potential transition worries and barriers
- Practical recommendations for school staff
- Suggested strategies to help your child settle successfully
- A professional document that can be shared directly with your child's new school
What to expect
We keep the process simple so it doesn't feel like another thing for you to manage.
We'll start with a discovery call so I can understand your concerns and any worries you have about the move to secondary school.
Your child will then complete a transition questionnaire designed specifically for children preparing to start secondary school.
We'll then meet together via Zoom to build a fuller picture and explore any concerns in more detail.
Using all of this information, I'll create your child's personalised Transition Passport.
Why this works
Schools often receive academic information about a child, but rarely a clear understanding of who they are, what worries them and what support helps them succeed.
The Transition Passport helps bridge that gap before your child starts secondary school, giving staff practical information they can use from day one.
Still not sure?
If you'd like to talk things through first, you can book a free 15-minute discovery call and we'll help you decide whether a Transition Passport is the right next step for your child.
